What is an FFE-homologated tournament?
An FFE-homologated tournament is organized under the French Chess Federation and counts toward an official Elo rating. ChessScout only shows these tournaments, sourced directly from echecs.asso.fr.
What's the difference between standard, rapid and blitz?
Time control depends on each player's total thinking time (base time plus increment): under 10 minutes is blitz, 10 to 60 minutes is rapid, 60 minutes or more is standard, the time control that counts toward the Standard Elo rating.
How do I know if a tournament is suitable for kids?
ChessScout automatically detects tournaments mentioning a youth category (Youth, School, and French FFE age-category keywords) and flags them with a Youth badge. Regular open tournaments generally accept all age categories too.
Is ChessScout affiliated with the FFE?
No. ChessScout is an independent tool that queries the FFE's public website to make searching easier; it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the French Chess Federation.
